Nordic Tankers is a ship owning company operating one of the largest global chemical tanker fleets in the segment below 25,000 dwt.. The core competence of Nordic Tankers is to manage and operate – commercially and technically – highly sophisticated chemical tankers. Nordic Tankers balances its vessel portfolio by owning tankers, chartering in chemical tankers, and having chemical tankers on commercial management, as well as operating tankers in pools. The strategy for Nordic Tankers is to be the ideal platform for consolidation of the tanker market in the chemical tanker segment below 25,000 dwt. Nordic Tankers’ intention is to be among the most profitable in the industry. Nordic Tankers is since 30 April 2012 owned by a company controlled by the investment fund “Triton”.
The shipping industry has been challenged due to low freight rates and overcapacity on the market. Nordic Tankers’ intention is to be among the most profitable in the industry AND THAT calls for highly skilled and motivated employees. Therefore, Nordic Tankers initiated a large development program. The purpose and main aim of the training and development program were to ensure foundation for future growth and prepare for merge of new vessels and organizations. Project management, change management, PRINCE2 certification and leadership training were the core and also the most applicable part of the program.
Connection Management did a solid pre-analysis and interviewed key staff prior to the design of the development program. Hereafter Connection Management focused the effort and energy together with Nordic Tankers and designed a tailored (MTB) program which included consultancy, personal coaching and official education including exam + 20 international ECTS points with external censorship. The vast majority of the training focused upon Change Management, Leadership and an exclusive PRINCE2 certification. The program delivered tangible results and the participants were pleased with the fact that all theory and training were turned into practical tools and easily converted into business results.
Return on Investment

It seems as if their energy has infected the participants”.
